The Other Side of Love

 By Robert W. Cluney

When we go out with the crowd you always call me darling

And you're hatred doesn’t even show

But when we are home again it's quite another story

For there we're just the other side of love

Love is a flower garden where lovers stroll

Some walked there 'til their dying day

But somehow we wandered through a gate on the other side

Now we are on the other side of love

There was a time I held you in my arms and poured out all my love

I would love you as long as there were stars above

You said you would never leave me but now I remember

You left out the little word love

You tease me with a gentle touch then you walk away

And leave me with a fire that never dies

You know I would never raise a hand to make you quench that fire

For I know we are just the other side of love
