The Cemetery
By Robert W. Cluney
Today I walked by a cemetery. I stopped and looked at the fine monuments marking the graves and at the beautiful flowers sitting about. I wondered if these people ever receives such treatment when they were living. We do great honor to our dead with our civilized ancestor worship. I think of what joy these flowers might have brought to the living, for the dead have no use for them. Perhaps it is not always possible to give gifts to those around us to show how we feel. I believe the greatest gift is a kind word, I love you, job well done, thank you, you are a good friend. These are bouquets of words, and when spoken from the heart they are a gift that may be cherished always.
