Story from a Child

By Robert W. Cluney

There is a little man

I can hold in my hand

He comes to play with me

He's as funny as can be

He wears a pointed hat

What do you think of that?

When I am at home

And playing all alone

But if someone comes around

He comes out to play

Or he hears a funny sound

He quickly runs away

Just the other day

He came around to play

We were having such fun

When someone slammed the door

Need I tell you more

He took off on the run

Now he is a magic man

Imagine if you can

His hat is the secret you see

Before he ran away

Just the other day

He gave his hat to me.

If I want him to come around

I don't have to make a sound

I don't even say a word

I put my finger on his hat

And he's there as quick as that

With a giggle like you never heard
