California

 By Robert W. Cluney

California, the state where anything will grow

Where the orange trees blossom and the oil wells flow

The cotton fields ripen in the warm summer sun

Where the rice paddies glisten and pure waters run

From the high Sierra Mountains to the blue Pacific shore

From the Oregon border to Old Mexico's lore

Our people are mixed, our potential great

With our golden bear banner, we're proud of our state

We are steeped in legend of old Spanish rule

Of Padre Francisco and his first Mission School

His missions still stand along the El Camino Real

Stretching through out State fore over five hundred miles
