Boys Don’t Cry

 By Robert W. Cluney

I watched the opening of the 1996 Olympics Ceremony on TV. The camera was on President Clinton, as he stood and watched the athletes march in. Then the camera moved in for a close-up. There were tears on the President’s cheeks. Here stands the leader of the greatest nation on Earth, with half of the world watching while he cries. I remember my mother saying when I was a boy, "Boys don’t cry."

Maybe boys don’t cry but great men do.
